Sustainable Access in Rural India (SARI) (2000 - 03)

a project initiated by the TeNeT group of IIT Chennai. This project envisages to connect about 1000 villages in the Madurai District of Tamilnadu through information and communication technology (ICT) with the indigenously developed WLL technology and thereby make available the benefits of ICT to the rural areas. As consultants for this research project, samanvaya designed and coordinated development the web site contents for rural technology implementation. We also created and administered a series of training programme for women groups (known as Self Help Groups or SHGs) in these village, to manage these internet kiosks.
